The 1962 FIFA World Cup was the 7th edition of the FIFA World Cup. It was held in Chile from May 30 to June 17, 1962. The tournament consisted of 16 teams divided into four groups of four teams each. The top two teams from each group advanced to the knockout stage.
In the final, Brazil defeated Czechoslovakia 3-1 to win their second World Cup title. The tournament is notable for several reasons, including being the first World Cup held in South America in over a decade, the first to feature substitutions, and the first to be broadcast on television in many parts of the world.
